Leads Finance Team, Reports to Vice President 

Position Summary 

The Company is seeking a highly motivated, forward-thinking planner to lead the Financial Team as the CFO.  This position is responsible for directing all financial, investment and accounting activity of the organization, which includes upwards of 100 individual projects. S/he exercises discretionary power in significant matters of accounting and financial planning. S/he serves as advisor and counsel to the Vice President and President on all financial and operational issues and manages others on the five-person Financial Team. Managing and projecting short- and long-term cash needs will be of paramount importance with this new position. This position requires high-level interaction with our Japanese partner and the ability to navigate complex financial strategies to maximize growth potential and equitable profit distribution among the partners. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, document and implement best practices for monthly, quarterly and annual financial close
  • Analyze and review monthly financial reporting with assistance from team
  • Oversee preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and debt compliance reports in accordance with US GAAP
  • Develop long-term budgets and provide ongoing fiscal and budgetary management
  • Work closely with Project Accountant and Data Analyst (also new hires) to better track and project job costs to determine charge-off procedures.
  • Provide effective and timely cash flow management, ensuring available cash to meet project and operating expenses. Examine current cash flow monitoring and projection mechanisms for best practices and accurate reporting
  • Ensure company has needed capital and strategy for growth
  • Stay current on new accounting pronouncements and be prepared to research and explain the impact on the company to management
  • Handle special projects or other duties as requested

Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Ten or more years of financial experience in a management role. Having experience in the construction industry and cost accounting would be highly beneficial.
  • Strong financial planning and analytic skills particularly in the area of cash flow projections.
  • Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
  • Strategic and creative thinking, with confidence to introduce new perspectives and approaches to challenges and assigned projects.
  • Proven ability to research and present well-reasoned conclusions on technical accounting issues.
  • Detail oriented with strong demonstration of integrity and professionalism.
  • Successful experience operating under deadlines.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and manage a team.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or equivalent is Preferred
